Sherry: I wish someone had said "smile" but who knows maybe they did
Larry: Daddy had just had his accident in the shop in Morton, Tx. He was working on a truck. He lifted the back with a chain hoist. The hook slipped out and swung back, catching him on the chin. It knocked all his teeth out. They took him and his teeth to the hospital but the dentist said his gum disease was so bad there was nothing he could do. So he got the hated false teeth. They never fit well. He was always taking them out and whittling on them with his knife.
He had great teeth before the war but wasn't able to care for them. They said could save them they would never get tight again. He also used wet/dry sandpaper on them trying to adjust the fit.
